During the summer of 2017 I took my granddaughter Amanda on a trip to Paris. Neither one of us had been to Europe before and Paris seemed like the perfect place to visit for our overseas maiden voyage.
We subleased an apartment just down the hill from Montmartre. In the evening we’d take the Funicular up the hill to get a good view of as the lights of Paris lit up the sky. It was magical.
We ate croissants for breakfast, went on walking tours and visited the museums and during the day, tried escargot for dinner once, and ate French pastries for dessert.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the home of the late artist Monet. Gazing across the lily pond he is famous for painting was mesmerizing.
Bike riding, floating along the canals, taking the train to visit Versailles and walking along all the unique streets of Paris will forever be etched within my mind.
